We hiked around the west side of the Mammaries lakes …..

….. to the saddle overlooking the next valley.  That is Snowshoe Mountain behind – so called because the first time I climbed it I was on snowshoes.

Sam and Joachim made a longer hike…..

And Sam climbed Snowshoe Mountain.

It was gorgeous up there.  Perfect temperature and hardly any bugs.  It was a great shame that we had to turn round and go home.
